Chase hadn't asked anyone out in a long time. He couldn't tell if he had actually inserted the word date when asking Dem. Thankfully he didn't say hang out. That he definitely remembered.
He dressed nice, but not too nice and had Courtney look him over before he left. Chase was thankful for the folks in his life now, being able to watch Daphne on a whim. Plus, they were people that she liked.
Chase sat in his truck, hyping himself up before walking into Parker's. It felt more personable than Starbucks. He didn't want to order until Dem showed up so he found a table where the sunshine kept the table top warm but still quiet. Chase sent a text saying he was there, hoping it didn't rush her.

She had answered an emergency call shortly after midnight - a dog had run out in front of a car - and after a quick triage, she had called in another vet and a tech so that they could save the dog's life - in which they succeeded - and now she was taking her time to unwind before heading out for coffee.
She studied her face in the mirror as she towel-dried her hair, trying to work out if she needed makeup to cover the fact that she'd only had a couple of hours sleep, but decided she didn't need it. The adrenaline from the surgery was still surging through her veins, and she felt like she could run for hours... which was a double-edged blade, because she wasn't looking forward to it wearing off, and her brain remembering how tired she was before she went to bed last night.
Ready to go, she took her phone off the charger, smiling as she read the text from Chase. After sending back a quick reply saying she was on her way, she dropped it into the small backpack she used as a handbag, and headed out to the front desk. After letting the vet nurse at the desk know that she was heading out, she left the clinic and made her way down to Parkers.
She had a whole different outfit picked out, which was still hanging in her closet at home, but she felt that the skinny jeans and shirt she had on were tidy enough for coffee, and didn't scream that she had just walked out of the vet clinic. She smiled as she entered Parkers, smile deepening as she saw Chase. "Hope you weren't waiting too long." She said apologetically.
